Recycled Leather – A Sustainable Alternative
Ørskov Copenhagen blends timeless design with sustainability by using recycled leather as an innovative alternative to traditional leather. Made exclusively from vegetable-tanned natural leather, this process repurposes leftover leather scraps, such as excess material from shoe manufacturing, that would otherwise go to waste.
Through a meticulous process, these scraps are crushed and combined with water and natural latex, a binding agent derived from rubber trees. This creates new leather sheets, which are then dyed to the desired shade and coated with a protective PU layer to ensure durability and easy maintenance.
